Mark Tatcher , a buisness man and a sport car driver .He participated in the automobile rally (Paris-Algiers-Dakar) -On January 1982-His teammates were Charlotte Verney (a codriver) and Claude Garnier (a mechanic).Unfortunately,they didnt reach Dakar because they had a break down in the Algérien sahara.
Mark described the events to journalists.We were a convoy of six Peugeot cars,we were driving towardsthe Mali border,suddenly,the rear axle of the car broke at a place called –Tindert- (400 km South West Tamanrasset and the car became immobile,we moved it to the top of the hill .It took us one day. We couldn't go further .We had a tent .We were comfortable.We had bags of food and water.We spent six days at ease .We never got frightened.The next day, we saw an Algérian army spotter plane,flying over the place,they were looking for us.we waved a sweater to attrack attention.Finally ;they sighted us saved us...really ,its the happiest day in my life.. its a miracle !!.. said Mark Tatcher.
